Big Win for Lady Blades and Girl’s Hockey
After months of development and weeks of game situation practices, Morgantown’s Girl’s hockey team took to the ice Feb. 20th in Indiana, PA for their very first game. Ranging in ages from 8 to 16 years old, MHA’s newest Lady Blades team captured a commanding win beating Indiana 8 to 3.
But the score of the game was merely an after thought. The true winner of the game was the reestablishment of a girls hockey program. Numerous spectators were on hand to watch the players of these two developmental teams experience the game of hockey, many for the first time. Despite the lack of skating experience for most of the players, there was no lack of enthusiasm. The atmosphere was charged and the crowd was reminded that this is what the game of hockey is all about… having FUN!
The Lady Blades take to the ice again Saturday Feb 27th at 5:15 p.m. in Morgantown. Come out and show your support for the Lady Blades!!!
